It will take place at the M Restaurant in Victoria, London. Single dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome to the romantic event, which will treat them to a special dog-friendly brunch. However, before they can sit down to enjoy the meal, there will be a little doggie speed dating, so they can pick a partner for the special event. This little speed dating will involve lining the dogs up across from each other so they can size up their potential dates before picking one. Unlike Lady and the Tramp, there will be no candlelit spaghetti dinner. Instead, the dogs attending will be enjoying bowls of black pudding granola and bone marrow risotto — sounds delightful. Both movies are now streaming on DisneyPlus.

By Olivia Foster for MailOnline. Pet owners hoping to give their pooches a taste of romance have turned to speed-dating in the hope of finding puppy love. Dozens of dog-owners took their pampered pooches to a pet boutique in Wales for the doggy dates, swapping getting muddy in the park for a civilised meeting. The speed-dating event is the brainchild of pet-lover Leanne Couch, who says both owners and pets prefer making a connection indoors rather than outside in the cold.

Dozens of dog owners took their pups to the parlour for the doggy dating night hoping to help their pooches find love. Couch, who staged the event at her Mucky Pups pet parlour in Cardiff, proclaimed the doggie-dating night to be a huge success.

This Valentine’s Day, even dogs are looking for love. But how does a pup find their perfect match? Doggy speed dating, of course. Fifteen dogs met up in the dog-friendly New York City furniture store Burrow House to find their one true puppy love or perhaps a new best friend. The idea was simple: The dogs were paired up and their owners attempted to take the cutest “couple” photo before they moved on to their next match.

Many of the pet parents were ready to find their pups a match. Donna Modafferi jokingly said of her dog Charlie, “Trying to get this girl married so she can get out of my house. In addition to speed dating , the event featured themed snacks for the dogs and owners and a special showing of Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp” to really get the romance going. The event was organized by “The Barking Lot,” a “group of dog moms” who met through Instagram and are now “friends in real life,” said Chang-Finnie.

Many of the dogs have successful animal Instagram accounts. The women get together regularly to socialize with each other and their pups. Chang-Finnie said the group is open to dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities. However, the event wasn’t only about the dogs who attended. And we also want to spread the joy and hopefully help a few other rescue animals find love on their own,” said Chang-Finnie.

Pittsburgh Today Live’s Mikey Hood visits Animal Friends and goes Dog Speed Dating on National Dog Day!

The concept was based on research showing that most people make up their minds about adopting an animal or choosing a potential romantic partner? For me, it took much less time: I made up my mind about Ruby, our adopted shelter dog, the very first moment we locked eyes — she a winsome seven-month-old stray, I a new shelter volunteer looking for someone to fill the dog-shaped hole in my heart ever since the death of our golden retriever, Rufus, seven months earlier.

The shelter was decorated with hearts and cupids and pink and white crepe paper streamers. Visitors roamed through the wards of adoptable animals and chose the ones they would like to meet; when they entered the room with a dog or cat, the clock would start running. At six minutes, the potential adopters would get a two-minute warning. The day was dreary but the rain held off, and we had a steady flow of visitors and several adoptions. One of the most heartwarming was that of little Marty McFly, a Jack Russell terrier mix who was found as a stray, afflicted with heartworms.

He had been at the shelter for several weeks, being treated for his disease and endearing himself to everyone. He is also housetrained and generally an amiable, get-along kind of guy. Just two days earlier, my husband and I had taken him to City Hall, where the Mayor and his staff once a month host one of our shelter dogs for the day. Marty was adopted by a woman who heads up a shelter for women and children escaping domestic violence.

And why not right, in this era of Tinder swipes and online dating?

Curated by fashion personality Daniel Boey and responsible pet company Good Dog People, the showcase will model quirky dog fashion created by local creative personalities and labels such as Thomas Wee, ohpopdog and Carrie K. Part of the proceeds will go straight to animal welfare groups, to raise awareness on responsible dog ownership and encourage people to AdoptNotShop. Dating can be anxiety inducing, but having your best furry mate by your side can help to ease the nerves. Dating with Dogs is an opportunity to bring your dog along for an afternoon of mingling, games and doggo-themed cocktails. Your dog will have a good time, too. The dog-themed cocktail menu includes the Moscow Mutt made with vodka, lime juice and ginger beer. The event is left open to allow people who need to leave their anti-social dogs at home, or those who are unable to own a dog, the freedom to attend.

And instead of a speed-dating model, attendees mingle as they wish, or you can compete in short and fun challenges if you need help getting a conversation started. The Social Dog Company supports pet-rescue groups.
